With the Thanksgiving holiday just around the corner, NSBA is urging small-business owners and their customers to participate in the third annual on Nov. 24, 2012. Building on “Black Friday,” where most retailers do a significant amount of business, Small Business Saturday is a campaign to urge consumers to dedicate a portion of holiday shopping to local, independently-owned small businesses.
Small Business Saturday was originated by American Express in 2010, and NSBA—along with myriad other small-business groups—is proud to support the effort to drive customers to shop at their local small businesses.
Small Business Saturday has various online tools, including an interactive page where small businesses can get involved. There is no need for small businesses to sign up and be part of Small Business Saturday, however American Express is offering free resources to help small businesses promote their business which includes free marketing materials.
