NSBA has been an early and outspoken voice for addressing the capital needs of America’s small-business throughout the economic downturn. Working to represent the needs of all small businesses, NSBA members voted access to capital one of the organizations top ten priorities for the 110th Congress. A stridently independent voice, NSBA has compiled a number of near-term and long-term solutions to small business capital markets to ensure the continued ability of America’s small businesses to create the overwhelming majority of net new jobs.
NSBA has advocated on behalf of America’s small-business owners since its inception in 1937. The organization, operating on a strictly nonpartisan basis, reaches more than 150,000 small-business owners nationwide. NSBA is a uniquely member-driven organization in which our small-business members craft policy through caucusing, voting and monthly issue-based conference calls.
NSBA members testify before Congress and meet with White House and congressional officials to ensure that the needs of the small-business community are front-and-center in any economic recovery effort. The most critical component for small-business owners as they make their way out of a recession is their ability to grow, which means availability of capital.
NSBA stands ready to work with lawmakers, small-business owners and all other stakeholders in moving toward a broad reform in opening up both lines of credit and access to capital for America’s economic engine of growth – small business.
