NSBA Sends Comments on SBA-Proposed Size Standard Changes
April 4, 2005
NSBA submitted comments on the SBA-proposed size standard changes. Based on the March 2004 proposal (which was subsequently withdrawn), to change size standards from receipts-based to employee size-based, SBA is once again looking to forward an official rule change.
NSBA was an active participant during the last round of SBA-proposed changes and will continue to represent our members with SBA.
"We believe that many small businesses, particularly those in the services/retail industries, would be harmed due to the large staffs of seasonal and part-time employees," NSBA President Todd McCracken wrote in the comments. "We are concerned that an employee-based size standard could lead to some businesses stalling on hiring new employees and thus stunting job-growth and creation."
The full text of the comments are available in the Economic Development section of our Resources page.
