On April 30, a new National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) union election rule took effect. The rule expedites union elections, substantially restricts pre-election hearings, and limits post-hearing briefs and appeals. The new rule applies to cases filed on or after April 30.
NLRB’s General Counsel has issued guidance regarding these new rules that may be accessed here. This guidance takes the form of a 24 page memorandum and a shorter set of Questions and Answers.
NSBA opposed both the original proposed rule and the somewhat improved revised rule.
