Small-Biz Federal Contracting Forum: June 28
June 22, 2010

Next week, an Interagency Task Force aimed at increasing the role of small businesses in the Federal contracting arena will hold a Small Business Federal Contracting Forum.

The Small Business Federal Contracting Forum will be held on June 28, 2010 at 1 pm ET, in the auditorium of the U.S. Department of Commerce at 1401 Constitution Avenue NW, Washington DC 20230.

The Forum is open to the public. It is being hosted by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), the Department of Commerce, and the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), which serve as co-chairs of the Task Force.

Registration is on a first-come first-serve basis. To pre-register, please send an e-mail to SB_TaskForce_Comment@sba.gov with your name, organization or the small business that you are representing, along with your contact information, any special accommodations you require, and the topics in which you are interested. Please put “Registration” in the subject line of the e-mail. The deadline to pre-register is 5 pm ET on June 24, 2010.

On-site registration also is available. It will begin at noon on June 28, 2010 at the Department of Commerce.

Interested parties also may submit written comments directly to the Task Force at: SB_TaskForce_Comment@sba.gov, by June 30. Please put “Comment” in the subject line of the e-mail.

President Obama issued a Presidential Memorandum establishing the Interagency Task Force on April 26, 2010. It is tasked with developing proposals and recommendations for increasing the participation of small businesses—including those owned by women, minorities, socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and service-disabled veterans of our Armed Forces—in Federal contracting.
